Job Description
 
Here’s a current Apple summer internship listing found on LinkedIn for Apple Pay, which is already changing our pay habits in a deeper and fundamental level. It’s going to change how we engage in our daily shopping activities. We are looking for an intern in software engineering with a passion for large-scale Internet applications that can keep up with the demands of millions of Apple Pay users. You will be collaborating with engineering teams throughout Apple and external partners to define and build the Web services and other software platforms that power Apple Pay.
 
Key Qualifications These include:
 
• Solid understanding of Web services and related technologies.
 
• Strong software development skills in Java or similar server-side technologies.
 
• Good with algorithms.
 
• Ability to analyze issues and solve complex problems.
 
• Critical thinking and fascination for trying out new ideas and technologies are must-haves.
 
• Intelligent with a can-do attitude.
 
Description
 
You will be responsible for developing large-scale platform prototypes that can support future Apple Pay functionality.
 
You will help build our next-generation, server-side software stack that can deliver scalable, highly reliable solutions.
 
You will interact with other internal and external groups to bring to life a full end-to-end solution that delivers the simple, secure and elegant experience that is Apple Pay.
 
The payment arena and digitization of wallet content is an exciting space.
 
This is a terrific opportunity for a students interested in developing the next generation of cloud support that powers Apple Pay.
 
Education
 
You must be a BS or MS in computer science/engineering student. In addition, you must be enrolled in school to qualify for these internships at Apple.
