Job Title: Principal Engineer Aerodynamics & Engine Performance

Location: Chatsworth, California

Primary responsibilities include aerodynamic design, analysis, and testing of radial turbines used in Capstone Microturbines. Thorough Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion, rotating machinery, power generation, and testing methodologies required for Capstone Microturbine systems. BSME or BSEE required; Masters degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years hands-on experience. Must also have CFD/Aerodynamic Design, gas turbine cycle analysis, Aerodynamics turbines & compressors, gas turbine/aircraft engine test data, and gas turbine performance experience. Ten or more years experience in engineering, gas turbine design or aircraft engine design and Microsoft Office. NIH seeks applications from exceptional candidates for the challenging position of Director, Office of Research Information Systems (ORIS), Office of Extramural Research, a career Federal position in the Senior Executive Service. ORIS is the NIH focal point for Electronic Research Administration (eRA), the Enterprise system that supports all NIH grants business, and for publication of all statistical and analytical reports regarding Federally-supported research. The Director provides executive leadership, vision, management oversight, and expertise in the direction of NIH electronic extramural activities. The incumbent ensures alignment of extramural systems with enterprise architecture and the mission and determines strategic and tactical direction for major information technology (IT) goals and policies. S/he provides authoritative advice on broad scope information systems policies and strategies that shape and control the direction of NIH corporate grant business.
